BC WEDDING AWARD by Lindsay Naito

(Original Post from November 29th, 2016)

So while we were off shooting in Alberta last week, we got some pretty insane news: one of our photos had won Best Wedding Detail Photograph at the Professional BC Wedding Awards!!! We were simultaneously honoured, humbled, and crazy excited; we were also very very bummed that weren't able to be at the gala in person because this really means a lot to us.

We know this is about a week late, but we just want to say a huge thank you to all of our couples -- you're the reason we get to do what we love, and for that we'll always be so so grateful -- and all of the vendors we've had the pleasure of working with this past season. There is such a crazy amount of talent in this industry, and we're so thankful that we get to be a part of it!
Also, an extra special thanks to our pals at The Apartment Photography for being such awesome friends and mentors (and for accepting our award for us and taking care of it until we were back in the province!). You guys are freaking amazing, and we're so glad to know you!

ZOEY & MING | HONG KONG WEDDING FILM by Lindsay Naito

We've been meaning to share this one for awhile now, but a very busy wedding season has meant that we keep putting it off. It's been sitting here, ready to share, but we haven't seemed to have had the time. Not that it takes a lot of time to post -- it's more like we wanted a moment to reflect. This day was big and special and spectacular, so it didn't seem right to just throw it up on the blog between shoots or after a long day of editing.

Well, we've had our moment to reflect, and we're so pleased to be finally sharing Zoey & Ming's Hong Kong wedding film. The experience of being by their side for 16 hours was not only a huge honour, but the breadth of their day also pushed us creatively and gave us the opportunity to experience so many different moments with them.

This one was unforgettable. Zoey & Ming, we can't thank you enough and can't wait until our paths cross again!

Head over to our video page to check it out!

JUNEBUG WEDDINGS | THE 2016 BEST OF THE BEST ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION by Lindsay Naito

Any sort of recognition in an industry that is so bursting with talent is pretty thrilling, but winning an award from Junebug Weddings?! Having one of our images selected to be a part of their 2016 Best of the Best Engagement Photography Collection is a HUGE honour. Year after year, Junebug's Best of the Best collections have been full of work from photographers that constantly leave us in awe of their talent and passion, and to have one of our photos up there with the best of them is pretty amazing. We're left incredibly humbled by this whole thing, and we're so inspired to keep creating.

ANNIE & ADAM | HONG KONG ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRPAHY by Lindsay Naito

When we were back in Hong Kong, we were lucky enough to meet up with Annie & Adam for their engagement shoot! Revisiting some of our favourite HK locations and hanging out with this crazy fun couple (seriously, they're a blast!) made this one of the best days of our trip, and we are counting down the days until we get to shoot their wedding later this year!

KIM & ROB | DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY by Lindsay Naito

If you already recognize this beautiful couple, it's because we've worked with them many times before. Back when we lived in HK, we shot their engagement photos and video, and we also captured their small wedding ceremony in Hong Kong Park. This time was the real deal -- a wedding celebration with their family & friends on a boat! -- and we were lucky enough to travel back to Hong Kong to capture it. With loved ones that had flown in from around the world, a beautiful -- albeit windy! -- December day, and the gorgeous backdrop of Hong Kong, this was definitely one of the most special events we've ever had the privilege to capture.

Thanks again Kimu & Robert! We love you guys! <3

MAVIS & BOWEI | VANCOUVER ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY by Lindsay Naito

After our 2015 Vancouver wedding season wrapped up and before we flew off to Asia, we did a few engagement shoots with some of our 2016 wedding clients. Now that we're finally catching up on our blogging, it's become obvious that these couples are too special not to include here.

The first engagement session we want to share is the one we did with Mavis & Bowei last fall. This shoot took place on a rainy day but, despite the fog and drizzle, it really brought together a lot of the things we love about working in the PNW: the dense forests, the rugged coastlines, and, most importantly, the truly wonderful people we encounter. When you're hanging out/working with people this awesome, you end up forgetting all about the rain and just focusing on what a fantastic time you're having.
